Leather Street

At lunch I brought our ADAC rental car back, and landed in a lost industrial part of Hamburg I’d never been to before. Why is it that essential parts of all cities, where so many people work and so many important things are done, have such a desolate, lifeless feel to them? The sign says “Lederstraße.”
